Instructor: Family Birth Center Instructor This one-session virtual class taught by a local pediatrician provides information and demonstrates hands on practice with newborn care, infant behavior and development. Methods for swaddling, bathing, diapering and soothing newborns will be demonstrated and practiced.
Class includes what's essential and what's not in baby equipment and important safety considerations.

| Childbirth Preparation 3 Week Series (HYBRID) |
Instructor: Jamie Drever In this 3 week, interactive, virtual childbirth preparation class, you will develop a sense of community as you have the chance to meet other local expectant couples. Many couples become lifelong friends from meeting in prenatal classes!
Our certified Mills-Peninsula childbirth educator will cover the stages of labor, hospital procedures, medications, cesarean birth, birthing options and postpartum recovery using video, lecture and group discussion. This class also includes a virtual tour of the Family Birth Center.
Couples will engage in active practice of physical comfort techniques such as breathing, positioning and massage as well as emotional comfort techniques.
Ideally this class should be completed between 32-36 weeks of pregnancy so couples have time to practice relaxation, breathing, and massage techniques.
This class will be virtual over Zoom for the 1st 2 class dates in the series and then the third class date will be in-person in Auditorium 1 on the first floor.
